We believe that Art is a form of expression, and creativity a medium for inspiring change. As we travel from village to village in search of dying art forms, there beckons a need to educate the artisans about different causes, different issues plaguing society, calling for action. As they understand these issues and their implications, they adapt their learning in their art form.
The Approach: Educative workshops are held with Artisans in their village, leading to developing products which express the cause. These products range from paintings to even folk theatre! A similar approach is followed in urban areas as well.
The Art for a Cause programme is aimed at starting in September 2010, with Art and Craft being used for spreading awareness about different causes such as Health, Education, Climate Change, Women’s Rights, Human Rights, Drug, Human Trafficking, etc.
